Project Management
Averday's Project Management initiative consists in the alignment of this processes area with central concepts promoted by PMI. If you wish to know more about PMI, please visit the official web site at (www.pmi.org).
At the present, our staff is in the process of being certified as Project Manager at the Project Management Institute.
Work Administration, Management and Tracking
Our work is administrated by ITManager, our own on-line web aplication, developed by our team, that has the following features:
- Allow our clients to create and manage their requirements in a secure and controlled form.
- Allows an efficient requirements administration for our team.
- Enables comunication between work groups remotely distributed.
- Work is ordered throught task assignation.
- Offers an automatic method to control and measure the results through different standards of measurement.
- It counts with tracking reports.
Version Control in source code and documentation.
SubVersion tool gives us support to keep the developed components, easing the versioning and change control.
Work Environment
This is how our work environment is configured:
- Development Environment
Applications under development process. - Test environment
Applications under test stage are tested integrally first, then the final full tests are run together with the future users. - Production environment
Running applications, accessible to final user. Given the case that the application doesn't run in our servers, this environment would represent the final product delivered to the client.
Directory Structure
All the information related with a Specific Project (Documentation, Sources, etc), it is organized in independent directories. The directory structure is standard, this allows us to easily identify, control and locate the files that constitute the project. The directory structure configuration is centralized and managed by SubVersion.
Actuality
We are aware that the quality factor has acquired more importance in all kind of industry, particularly during the last 10 years. In this period of time, we can see this growth in our young software industry. As a reflection of this, we see the apparition of implementation models CMM and the latter CMMI, as well as the adaptation of ISO rules, and the new concepts introduced by PMI to work with IT projects
Our reality
We think and work over formal processes that offer us an organized framework and allow us to measure results, in order to improve the production process itself. We count with a complete and detailed work methodology. We rearrange the process according with the project dimensions in order to obtain agility, avoid over checks and controls as well as dedicate the necessary time to management.
